Quasar was created to solve those problems directly: by building the core technology ourselves, controlling the full stack, and working closely with customers whose requirements exceed what conventional systems can deliver.

2009 – 2013
The problem
Quasar began with a value-at-risk workload at a large bank. Existing database systems could not deliver immediate results over petascale data without excessive infrastructure cost.That problem led to a broader conviction: the hardest data workloads require infrastructure designed around them, not another layer added to a generic stack.
2014 – 2020
Building the platform
Quasar raised funding from Newfund and Partech to turn the original research into a production-grade distributed database for high-volume numerical data.
2021+
Production at scale
Quasar now supports demanding production systems across industry, finance, sciences, and aerospace and defense.
